Waqas has worked in law since 2013 and qualified as a solicitor in 2018. He studied the LLB and the LPC, then completed a training contract that began in the city. He went on to work at regional firms and as a civil litigation consultant for several firms, and founded Herschel Law in 2022.
His work is mainly in civil litigation, family law, immigration and criminal law. Earlier in his career he worked as a civil litigation paralegal at Slater and Gordon.
He was nominated for the ALA Rising Star Award in 2022.

Costs are agreed before work starts. A matter with a defined scope is quoted as a fixed fee. A matter that cannot be scoped is charged by the hour, at rates of £200 to £350 plus VAT depending on the fee earner, with an estimated range given at the outset.
